It is known for a long-running conflict with the rival Big Block gang, which was documented in the 2002 film Straight Outta Hunters Point. The gang is involved in drug trafficking and has been linked to rap culture. Members have been convicted for shootings and a high-profile murder of a police officer in 2004.
