Trinitarios

Dominican American criminal organization founded in 1993 on Rikers Island, New York City, by Leonides Sierra and Julio Marine. Initially formed to protect Dominicans and other Hispanics in prison, it expanded into drug trafficking, murder, and extortion across the northeastern US and internationally. Despite major prosecutions in 2009-2014, the group has experienced a resurgence with internal factional conflicts.
