Its members were largely drawn from the Medellín Cartel, with leaders including Pablo Escobar and Gonzalo Rodríguez Gacha. The group engaged in violent acts such as murder, bombing, and kidnapping to pressure the Colombian government. It was active from 1984 until 1993.
