Italian far-left Marxist-Leninist militant group formed in 1970, responsible for numerous violent attacks during Italy's Years of Lead, including the kidnapping and murder of former prime minister Aldo Moro in 1978. The group sought to create a revolutionary state through armed struggle and remove Italy from NATO. It was broken up in the 1980s but had a resurgence in the late 1990s to 2000s.
