The North Coast Cartel was a Colombian drug cartel operating along the Caribbean coast from the 1980s to 2010/2011. Based in Barranquilla, it controlled drug trafficking routes and local production. Its leader Alberto Orlandez Gamboa was arrested in 1998 and extradited to the US. The cartel was involved in drug trafficking, money laundering, and violence.
