It was dominant in the Stilaro Valley until the mid-1990s, involved in construction contracts, agricultural control, and kidnappings in the 1980s. The clan has been found in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, and allied with the Metastasio, Leuzzi, and Gallace-Novella clans. Its leadership shifted to the Metastasio brothers after the Ruga were imprisoned.
