New York street gang active in the early 1900s, based on the Lower West Side between Tenth and Ninth Avenues. Led by stevedore Thomas F. 'Tanner' Smith, the gang succeeded the Hudson Dusters and was involved in extortion and labor slugging. They were suppressed by police crackdowns in the 1910s, and Smith was killed in 1919, leading to the gang's dissolution.
