Colombian narcoparamilitary organized armed group formed by dissidents of the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC) after its demobilization in 2006. It became independent after the assassination of its main founder in Venezuela in 2008 and was one of the most important drug trafficking organizations in Colombia. The group finances itself through cocaine, marijuana, and heroin trafficking, as well as illegal gold mining. It operated mainly in Valle del Cauca and Cali, with influence in other parts of Colombia and western Venezuela. By 2017, the group had fragmented into small factions.
