Paramilitary group formed in 1992 by enemies of Pablo Escobar, based in Antioquia, Colombia. Financed by the Cali Cartel and led by the Castaño brothers, they waged a small-scale war against the Medellín Cartel until Escobar's death in 1993. The group had ties to Colombian National Police and later evolved into the United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia (AUC).
