The Grey Wolves are a Turkish far-right ultranationalist and neo-fascist political movement, officially the youth wing of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP). Founded by Colonel Alparslan Türkeş in the late 1960s, they were heavily involved in political violence in Turkey in the 1970s, including the Maraş massacre. They have been designated as a terrorist organization by Kazakhstan and banned in Azerbaijan and France. The group is active in Turkey, Northern Cyprus, Western Europe, and post-Soviet states, and is suspected of ties to the Turkish deep state and organized crime.
