The Gas House Gang was a New York City street gang active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Based in the Gas House district of Manhattan, it controlled the area along Third Avenue from 11th to 18th Street. The gang specialized in armed robbery, committing an estimated 30 to 40 robberies per night, and also engaged in extortion and operating brothels. It was eventually absorbed by the Five Points Gang in 1910.
