Groups of former FARC members who refused to demobilize after the 2016 Colombian peace process or resumed insurgency. Numbering 2,000-2,500 armed combatants, they are heavily involved in cocaine production and sales. They operate in rural Colombia and Venezuela, controlling areas as a parallel state. Led by former mid-level commanders, they are a major security challenge for Colombia.
