The Eastman Gang was a predominantly Jewish-American street gang that dominated parts of New York City's underworld from the late 1890s to the early 1910s. Founded by Monk Eastman, the gang operated in Manhattan's Lower East Side, engaging in armed robbery, theft, illegal gambling, extortion, prostitution, and opium peddling. It succeeded the Whyos as a major non-Irish gang and had strong political connections through Tammany Hall. The gang dissolved in the early 1910s after internal conflicts and the death of its leader.
