Irish American criminal street gang active in Lower Manhattan from the 1830s to 1850s. They were formed by disgruntled members of the Roach Guards and were known for their rivalry with the Bowery Boys. They engaged in over 200 gang battles and supported Tammany Hall politicians. Their symbol was a dead rabbit on a pike.
