The Charlton Street Gang was a group of river pirates active on the Hudson River in New York City during the mid-19th century. They raided small cargo ships in New York Harbor and later moved upriver, stealing a sloop in 1869 under the leadership of Sadie the Goat. The gang engaged in kidnapping for ransom and was known for flying the Jolly Roger. They dissolved by the end of the 1860s after conflicts with vigilantes.
