The Boricua Popular Army, also known as Los Macheteros, is a clandestine militant organization based in Puerto Rico that campaigns for Puerto Rican independence from the United States. Founded in the 1970s, it was led by Filiberto Ojeda Ríos until his death in 2005. The group has claimed responsibility for bombings, attacks on US military personnel, and a 1983 Wells Fargo robbery. Since 2005, it has operated as an activist group.
