African-American organized crime syndicate based in Philadelphia, founded around 1969 by Samuel Christian. At its height in the 1970s-early 1980s, it controlled drug trafficking, extortion, gambling, and other rackets in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley. The group was known for its use of Islam and intimidation to evade law enforcement. It was responsible for over 40 murders and was largely defunct by 1984.
