The Bình Xuyên was an independent military force and criminal organization in South Vietnam, active from 1945 to 1960. Originating as a coalition of gangs in the 1920s, it was led by Lê Văn Viễn (Bảy Viễn) and funded itself through organized crime in Saigon while fighting Communist forces. It was part of the Vietnamese National Army until 1955 and was defeated in the 1955 Battle of Saigon.
