Its strongholds include Policoro, Montalbano Jonico, Pisticci, Scanzano Jonico, and the Val d'Agri and Vulture regions. A maxi-trial in 1999 led to convictions of key members, causing the group to fracture and fall under the influence of the 'Ndrangheta.
