American street gang founded in Chicago in the late 1950s by Eugene Hairston and Jeff Fort. Originally the Blackstone Rangers, it later developed an Islamic faction called El Rukn. The gang is involved in drug trafficking, extortion, money laundering, murder, and robbery, and is part of the People Nation alliance. It is considered Chicago's most powerful street gang and has been linked to terrorism conspiracies.
